She organised her\nfirst exhibition at the age of 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gerda likes\nprospecting and experimenting, but as soon as she has discovered something new\nshe already leaves it at that and starts digging for new sources. This explains\na large variety in styling and techniques. Her themes are not always fully\nreflected on. \u201c The images impose themselves when one is open to them\u201d, she\nclaims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Though her subjects\nspontaneously bob up, Gerda keeps moulding and enforcing them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several creations are\nbased on nature, even though they not always show an evident resemblance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Others find their\norigin in stress and tension, sometimes moulded in high-spirited raw\nstructures, sometimes in a more refined texture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She continuously asks\nherself: \u201cWhat is good, what is bad?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She unveils the last\ntree by constructing a sheltering house around it and she considers this as a\nsymbol of our uprooted world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her creations are\npure and universal. Gerda is willing to listen and she creates her world as it\nis being presented, sometimes geometrically and flat, but the other day as\nplayful as nature\u2019s whims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Do not stick a label\non her, do not pigeon-hole her; she wants to be as creative as possible, to\nexperiment and to be challenged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
