Patrick Villas is one of the most prominent Belgian sculptors of animal figures of his generation. His work is characterized by a permanent search for the creation of suggestive sculptures which transcend the limits of the practice of his craft. His sculptures attempt to cancel out the boundaries of the anatomical, while preserving the original suppleness of his subject. He shows the character of the feline, its essence, inner marks and the instinctive of its temper. So each animal acquires an individual signature, distinguishing it from the common furry aspect of its species.
